I hope you had a fantastic week! You might know if you have me on social media that I went on a trip to a town with some friends. We spent the whole weekend together & drove back late at night Sunday after star-gazing.
As promised here is a rundown of my trip to Bisbee, AZ. If you live in Arizona and have never even heard of this town I will not be surprised as I have lived here for over 16 years and didn’t know it existed. So some background on the town. It is located in the far south-east “butt” of Arizona. It is really close to the border. It is a gold, silver, & copper mining town with the population a little over 5,000 people.
Right when you get into the town it is just gorgeous. For a part of the desert is sure was really green. Which was just surprising to me. Then again we have places like Flagstaff where it looks like Colorado, snows, and etc.
When we went to town we went into one of the hotels to look around inside. We went onto this ledge to see an overlook of the town. You can see the mountains, and trees and all of the lights that turn on at night it’s so beautiful.
Then we just started walking around the whole town! My favorite part was when we went in and out of shops & to speak with the locals. They all had interesting information to share & were just so knowledgeable. There were lots of lodgings/hotels and little pub areas all over the place. They had this beautiful rocky area where we scoped out this stargazing section to overlook the town.
We didn’t get to see the inside of the Warner hotel but it was still really neat to see the outside up close! It’s a 100-year-old landmark, and from what I was told actors and actresses would stay there while filming and famous artists. We also got to go into Killer Bee which sells all natural honey and honeycomb, and honey mustard. In a ton of flavors like pumpkin, vanilla, and blueberry. I also tried honeycomb it was so good I have never had that before.
We ended up going to dinner after realizing that things close pretty early since it is a mining town everything closes at 5. We went to this place called The Table which was pretty much a tavern/pub. It was really good food! I shared Mac n Cheese & Truffle Fries with a friend & then we also got an IPA. I can’t remember the name but it was citrus flavored.
Finally, we climbed up to the top of Castle Rock and waited until it got dark out. Castle Rock was this peak lookout place and you could just see the top of the whole town. We played UNO, laughed at nothing, and just talked about life while looking at the stars. It was such a fun trip to take with some really good friends.
After we left, my friend had to keep me awake, since I drove, so we listened to old school Fall Out Boy and Panic at The Disco’s new album. We were so exhausted when we entered Tucson but the whole day & amazing adventure was so worth it.
I hope to do more of these posts in the future!
