I apologize for that small absence I have been really sick with this cold since last week. I tried taking photos a few time but I just felt so gross in full makeup and hair did when you’re still unwell just makes everything really heavy. I am glad to be back & have a ton of posts to finally catch up on!
I decided I wanted to finally try Stitch Fix after they added the Plus Size option I think a year ago. If you are not familiar with this service they are a clothing subscription box that sends you new pieces to try out. You have a style profile that you fill out giving details about yourself to help your personal stylist pick items catered to you and your preferences. The box is $20 a month & you do not need to keep all of the items in your set. They break down the price of each item & give you a pre-paid return package to send back whatever didn’t work for you.
When I received my box I was so excited to see what companies I might recognize. I received 5 items and 2 were tops, 1 dress, 1 jeans, and 1 purse. They give you the option to share with your stylist your Pinterest page to help the stylist get a sense of what your style is. I feel like that really helped them capture what I was interested in. If you’re a blogger I think this service is great not only to give you some post content but also to find more pieces to rotate in your collection. The only complaint is I didn’t realize you only have a few days to keep the items then send back what you don’t want. I thought that this was a monthly service where you could keep them for a month then send back the items you don’t want at the end of the month.
I plan on putting 2 outfits together from the pieces I received in the box! Those will be going up sometime next week. In the meantime, I tried everything on to show you how it fits. Overall I am pretty happy with 3.5/5 of the items!
*UPDATED 2/5 of the items were damaged when I received them. 2.5/5 did not fit correctly on my body being way too small. I try not to be too harsh but unfortunately, I am disappointed as I would rather spend money on other subscription boxes that cater to my size correctly. It also is suspicious that 2 items came with holes and the fabric falling apart even though they don’t seem to be pre-worn. I already took photos with the items I was planning on keeping. But now I am going to have to return some & exchange for other sizes. The photos I did take I am planning on still posting for the next 2 weeks.
Lush- Dearring Tie Neck Top// $38
This is probably my favorite thing out of the whole box. It has a little bit of distressing at the end. It has this ruching detail at the top with spaghetti straps and a tie string to loosen or tighten. It is this pale blue tie dye color and is lighter than air on. I think I am going to style this top & jeans in a later post!
City Chic- Trina Off The Shoulder Dress// $88
I loved this dress! I like the floral pieces on it & the fact that it is off the shoulder. The chest area comes in right at my waist to accentuate it which I love. It is perfect for summer & I think I am going to wear it to one of the graduations I am attending! I think I am going to style this dress in a later post! *Later found that the threads in the front are coming loose so I am trying to exchange this.*
Vigoss- Colle Distressed Cropped Skinny Jean// $68
These jeans I was super nervous about because I have a long torso and a tummy so I like to have something high rise that hits my hips. These, however, were a mid-rise jean which I really just don’t care for. They have slight distressing and are faded on the front. The other complaint I have is that the ankles were a little loose, and I felt like these didn’t do much for my butt.
Le Lis- Bandy Cold Shoulder Blouse// $48
This shirt is my least favorite thing. It is way too tight in the chest area making the shirt a lot shorter on me. I really like the design but I feel like it is something I probably wouldn’t wear outside of Summer. There was also a few holes in the stitching which I thought was really odd since the item isn’t pre-worn.
Moda Luxe- Brooks Crossbody Bag// $58
I really like this bag! I think it is pretty nice quality & I could see myself using it often. It is a classic cognac brown with gold zipper detailing. It also has a zipper o the bottom to make it bigger or smaller.
