These are probably my favorite posts to do. Anything back to school-related has and always will be my favorite. I remember growing up getting my school supplies list and picking out my first day of school outfit was essential. I can still remember almost all of my first day of school outfits.
I am going to link a few posts I have done in the past. Last year I did a back to school outfit idea, and then I also made a college backpack essential’s here. I also have backpack ideas from 2016, & 2015 if you want to read those too.
This year my dad & brother were so sweet, they made a survival guide for my sister and I before school started this week. Above I took a picture of most of the things they got me. Below I added things that I think everyone needs to survive their first day and week of college.
First and foremost the essentials are backpack, pens, a notebook, headphones, water bottle, your laptop, and your phone. For the very first day, this is all you are going to need. As college student’s we joke about it being “Syllabus Day” because as freshmen usually the lower level classes you take only go over expectations, homework schedule, and group projects. After that you can fill your backpack will all your textbooks, highlighters, and notecards galore.
I have always wanted a Victoria Secret backpack since high school. That was the cool thing, and I am about 4 years too late but I love this backpack it has so many zippers and will be perfect for traveling too. As a college student, you need a laptop. All of your assignments are going to be turned in there, you’ll take quizzes on there as well. My favorite planner is from Bloom Planners. I love the space I can write all of my assignments out for EACH class, some planners don’t give you enough room for that.
My favorite pens are these Papermate gel ones. First off they come in a HUGE pack of colors so I assign certain colors for each activity or class assignment. My favorite notebooks are he mead five star ones. I know its ridiculous to have a favorite but they’re inexpensive, come in lots of colors, and are reusable. In college, you don’t really need pencils except for scantron tests so the ones I like are mechanical pencils from Bic at staples. They are cheap and come in a big pack. You might not need this right away but I have a flash drive for group projects. so if you are the responsible student then you might need one to keep files on.
Some things you might think are silly are tissues (you would be shocked how many times you go to class sick and your nose is running and there are no tissues), hand sanitizer, some spray, and lip balm. I think they speak for themselves. You are running around all day in the heat without time to go back to your room so you might want a spray to smell good, and lip balm for those chapped lips.
I went ahead and linked everything below! Hope you enjoyed. 🙂
