When you graduate college there are two types of people in this world. The ones who can’t wait to dress up for their dream job in business clothes. And the others who couldn’t care less or hate that they have to dress up at all. Can you take a stab at what person I am?
Ever since college, something I have always thought about, dreamed about, talked about incessantly, is getting to work in an office & wear a classic pantsuit or a classic black dress to meetings or presentations. But since times are becoming more casual (BOO!) I don’t ever dress the stereotypical “Business Casual” unless it is for an interview or business event. Which makes my inner boss babe sad that I won’t have the opportunity to rock an all pink pantsuit to work!
That being said some of you might actually have a job where you do work in an office and wear slacks, blouse, pumps, blazers, etc. I wanted to share 5 pants that won’t bore you to wear to work! I think too often I reach for something boring, plain, dull, what have you because color can be scary to wear to work. You can be stuck in this “I don’t want to be noticed mindset” or “don’t draw attention to me.” But what’s so wrong with that? One of my goals for this year is changing my mindset when it comes to color. It’s okay to wear what makes you happy. It’s okay to try new things. So throw out the plain black slacks (well maybe just hide them in the back of your closet) and make room for some fun new styles you didn’t think you needed till now.
If you would have told me cropped or palazzo pants were work appropriate I would laugh in your face. But I found this pair from Eloquii that just intrigue the heck out of me. I love the summer vibes and the color combo I would have never thought that would work together in a million years. They don’t quite hit the floor so perfect to show off your shoes.
I love love love ruffles. I have been looking for pants like this for a very long time. I know red can be scary I definitely avoided wearing it for such a long time. But I love how this is a cranberry red and very muted so its easier to wear in a business setting. This is also a spring pant but you could totally dress it up or down.
It’s hard to believe but there is a way to do stripes wrong. These pants are done RIGHT. I think vertical stripes elongating your legs and sliming you out is so tasteful to wear to work. I love these pants from Lane Bryant because they’re thicker stripes.
Obviously, I am having a moment of weakness for crop pants. I think with a block heel or the right top they would look so cute at work. I love these bright pink ones from Avenue AND they have the cutest scalloped hem at the bottom.
Fun Fact: I actually have never cared for palazzo pants or wide leg pants because I felt like it made me even bigger. But I am a firm believer in don’t let clothes wear you, you wear the clothes. Be confident in what you put on your body and that’s all people will see. I found these baby blue gorgeous pants from Torrid that are sure to knock waves in your next presentation.
These have been my go-to work pant. I’m bored with regular slacks. I bought these ASOS paper bag pants and they are just the most comfortable things I have ever owned. It’s hard not to wear them every day.
Need I say more about these pants? I think I’ll let them do the talking.
Everyone needs a crepe pant in their life. These ones speak to me on an emotional level. Anything from Eloquii is amazing and high quality. I can’t recommend their pants enough.
How cool are these wide legs from ASOS? I love the fitted feel of the top and gradually flaring out they remind me of bellbottoms but for work.
